About the Organisers

RTC Events Management (RTCem) has a vision: to be a trusted builder of communities dedicated to the built environment. RTCem is a purpose-built events company dedicated to the needs of those communities, and run by the community members themselves. Supported by a professional events staff centered in our Sydney headquarters, RTCem now has offices in each of its’ operational regions, and local committees dedicated to ensuring the relevance and value of each event for its individual technical, social, and cultural requirements.

As a community based organization, RTCem relies 100% on income from attendee registrations and the support of our sponsors and exhibitors. We do not run events outside the Built Environment industry, do not develop or sell any software or tools, and do not act as a primary or sub-consultant on project or practice related work. Instead we focus on our passion; providing the best environments in which to foster the growth and improvement of those communities.

About the Conference

BILT is an annual event, run in multiple regions around the globe, designed to cater to the needs of those who design, build, operate and maintain our built environment. As a community of professionals, it is dedicated to improving the way industry works together.

We believe that:

  • Technology is an enabler of better processes and outcomes, not a driver in and of itself.
    Our industry has failed to keep pace with others in productivity and innovation, but that provides clear opportunities for improvement.
  • Our industry is siloed, fractured and too often adversarial; but we wish to play a role in changing this by bringing people together from different backgrounds to learn from each other.
    Getting people to change behaviours is the hardest part of any change.
  • As an educational and networking event, BILT provides a variety of opportunities to learn and share, to probe and challenge, to listen and to be heard. Our sessions focus on the use of best-in-class tools, processes and workflows, behaviours and leadership.

As a natural and necessary evolution of the RTC Community, BILT is a unique, independent conference and community. Whether you are a practitioner or consumer of BIM, DE, VDC; whether your projects are buildings or infrastructure; whatever your preferred technology; whatever your role in the lifecycle of the built environment; we want to help you, your firm and wider industry become more effective, more impactful and more productive.

BILT Asia Delegate Profile

The BILT event in 2017 attracted a broad range of attendees, such as Architects, Structural Engineers, Mechanical, Electrical and Hydraulic Engineers, Civil Engineers, BIM and CAD Managers, Design Technology Managers, IT Managers, Design Managers, Construction Managers, Project Managers, Quantity Surveyors, Technologists, Thought Leaders and Academics.

The event received fantastic feedback. 307 people attended the conference, representing 96 companies, including many of the largest firms in their regions.

22 countries were represented in 2017, with attendees coming from Australia, Bulgaria, China, Denmark, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Israel, Italy, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand, Norway, Philippines, Singapore, Slovakia, Thailand, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, USA and Vietnam.

68% of attendees indicated it was their first time at a BILT event in 2017, indicating strong interest from local regions.

Location

Host City

Singapore, an island city-state off southern Malaysia, is a global financial centre with a tropical climate and multicultural population. In circa-1820 Chinatown stands the red-and-gold Buddha’s Tooth Relic Temple, Little India offers colourful souvenirs and Arab Street is lined with fabric shops. Singapore is also known for eclectic street fare, served in hawker centres such as Tiong Bahru and Maxwell Road.

Venue

Marina Bay Sands is an integrated resort fronting Marina Bay in Singapore, built by the South Korean company Ssangyong Engineering and Construction and completed in 2010. The architect was Aedas, and they were responsible for employing all consultants and for developing, co-ordinating and implementing the design. Engineering was provided by Arup and Parsons Brinkerhoff (MEP).

Set in 3 ultra-modern high-rise buildings, this luxury hotel is a 2-minute walk from Bayfront metro station. Featuring floor-to-ceiling windows with city/bay views, the sleek rooms come with free Wi-Fi, flat-screens and minibars. There are chic bars, and posh restaurants that serve international dishes. Other amenities include a rooftop infinity pool, a spa and a gym.
