BCS Engine Room

At the heart of this year’s event lies the Engine Room, a multi-purpose, central, gathering space for all activities during the Building Content Summit. Full group sessions, catering for all breaks, exhibitor spaces, and discussion areas – all occur within this space. Most importantly, however, the Engine Room is the primary space for another reason…

An attendee comes to BCS prepared to work. The Engine Room is setup with round tables and will be populated with subject matter experts – advanced software users, developer and manufacturer staff, and content creators from all AEC disciplines – who will be on call to help attendees with their work. Whether a funky nested parametric louver family in Revit, a misbehaving GDL script in ArchiCAD, or an obdurate IFC output just about anywhere, our experts will sit down and help attendees work through the trouble spots. Sometimes the work they do with a single attendee to answer a problem would be good general knowledge. The Engine Room is set up to allow ad-hoc classes to run. There will be two projection spaces with gathering space in front of them that will allow for ‘open room’ classes of 5-15 minutes each. A call will go out over the PA that such a class is about to commence. Simply wander over, stand with the group at the screen, and grab those golden nuggets and little gotcha tips that are such a big hidden cost back at the office.

As a sponsor, you will be embedded within this space and this process. The exhibit spaces are table-tops, not booths that require manning. Feel free to wander the hall and step in to help when you see people working on a problem that matches your area of interest, or grab a seat at a table and use it as a spot to show off your wares or to solicit help from the experts with the problems you are having. This is an active, noisy, energetic space, where we are fostering an open approach to solving broad industry problems. Dive in and be part of that conversation!

Summary

The Pop Up Stands will form part of the Engine Room. Food and drinks will be served during all refreshment breaks and lunches. Exhibitors will have exposure to attendees for two days.
